Effect of iron dosing on the properties and anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge
Emanuele graduated in Civil Engineering with a Specialization in Hydraulics (2011-2012) at the Polytechnic of Bari in Italy. At the end of his degree he worked as Consultant for six months at the wastewater treatment plant in Potenza (Italy). He holds a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Imperial College (2014-2015), where he developed his knowledge in water and wastewater properties and strategies for the optimization of treatment processes. His personal interest is focused on the energy and resource recovery from the anaerobic treatment of sludge. His Masters Thesis, in collaboration with the Thames Water Innovation, focussed on the effect of iron dosing on the anaerobic digestion of sewage sludge, winning the “Water Conservation Trust Prize”, annual award for the best dissertation in the area of Waste and Resource Management. Emanuele is currently working as Technical Engineer at Acciona Agua SA in Milano, part of Spanish group Acciona, engaged in the design, construction and operation of water treatment plants, residual purification plants, tertiary treatment plants and reverse osmosis desalination plants.
