With help from a steering committee of experts, seed funding from the Royal Commission of the Exhibition of 1851 and support from CIWEM & Thames Water, SludgeTech became a reality in 2015. WaterTech Events Ltd was set up to enable the continuation of this event after great feedback from delegates and speakers. With a small team in the UK and an international network of professionals, WaterTech Events is now the delivery vehicle for all SludgeTech events including the recent 2016 event held at the University of Surrey and the 2017 Specialist Sludge Management Conference in London. Our events aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry bringing. together leading experts to share knowledge and insight into the challenges and opportunities surrounding sewage sludge.
IWA members and staff are situated in 130 countries worldwide, forming the largest international network of water professionals working towards a water wise world. We work across a range of areas that contribute to the progression of water management worldwide. Our programmes develop research and projects focused on solutions for water and wastewater management; we organise world-class events that bring the latest science, technology and best practice to the water sector at large; we work to place water on the global political agenda and to influence best practice in regulation and policy making; and we provide services to IWA’s global membership.
The event could not have taken place without the generous support of Isle Utilities, Thames Water, The Royal Commission of 1851, The Imperial College London, and the University of Surrey.
